abdominal ventral adult muscle precursor cell [FBbt_00003251]
An adult muscle precursor cell that is located in a ventral cluster of adult muscle precursors in an anterior abdominal segment. This cluster begins life as a single cell associated with the ventral branch of the segmental nerve (Bate et al., 1991) and connected to abdominal adult muscle precursor cells in the same segment by filopodia (Figeac et al., 2010). The cluster remains associated with this nerve through most of development, but migrates to the epidermal histoblast nests where muscle formation is initiated during metamorphosis (Bate, 1993).
