It is a secondary neuron that is part of the DPLp1 (LHp2) medial hemilineage (Bates et al., 2020. It receives input from olfactory and non-olfactory projection neurons (Marin et al., 2020. There is approximately one of these cells per hemisphere (Schlegel et al., 2021. (Bates et al., 2020, Schlegel et al., 2021, Marin et al., 2020)
