Neuroblast of the deutocerebrum (Kumar et al., 2009 that generates a basoanterior secondary lineage that is closely associated with the BAla4 lineage in the late larval brain (Pereanu and Hartenstein, 2006; Wong et al., 2013. Its primary and secondary lineages enter the larval brain at the ventrolateral antennal lobe, alongside the BAla4 neurons (Lovick et al., 2013; Hartenstein et al., 2015. There are approximately 29 cells of this lineage in the adult, collectively innervating many neuropil regions (Ito et al., 2013; Yu et al., 2013. (Yu et al., 2013, Lovick et al., 2013, Wong et al., 2013, Pereanu and Hartenstein, 2006, Hartenstein et al., 2015, Kumar et al., 2009, Ito et al., 2013)
