Previously unclear whether this included subvibrissal bristles - as seems to be the case in Eichler et al., 2024, Cladera and Bryant, 1985 - FBrf0042392 and Atkins and Mardon, 2009 - FBrf0208548 or just the larger anterior bristles - as seems to be the case in http://www.ento.csiro.au/biology/drosophila/melanogaster.html?vibrissa and in other species (e.g. PMID:34641736). This term is now explicitly the broader alternative.
